action script

i love working with flash. it is easy to draw and make animations. i don't know why, but photoshop gives me a headache.

flash is the wave of the future. if only the teachers and schools that use our site knew about it. they seriously have some of the worst system policies and general computer practices in the world. we had two teachers in a one week span not know how to make a folder on the desktop. one teacher, who i like and really respect as an educator and artist had a folder on her thumb drive called "the____cantmakeafolder folder". where the ___ was her name. her husband had make the folder at her request.

i shouldn't make fun of them, and i certainly don't look down on them, but part of the educational tool kit in this era is computer savvy. as an educational resource, we owe it to them to help bring basic computer skills into the classroom and their personal repertoire. we've done a lot of good up to this point, but i think we're going to have to move away from basic html and into flash objects and even entire sections.
and so i begin working on the mexico map page in flash. both the html and flash versions will soon have links to videos relating to the states as well as lesson plans, photos, documents and other resources.
