Did he actually compare it to the World Cup, though? Calling the Super Bowl a trascendant worldwide event is absurd to be sure, but I don't see how he was belittling the World Cup. He just doesn't watch soccer.
Plus, like I said on twitter - he's trying to appeal to voters, and his voting base doesn't know what FUTBOL is BECAUSE THE ONLY FOOTBALL IS FOOTBALL BY GOD AMEN
