Mexico lazyness
I can't seem to find the right pictures to describe my trips to Mexico and Padre Island. You can find some pictures that other people have put up here:
Chrissy
Rachel
Work
The 4 thousand pictures and the 30 hours of footage will be on the work database eventually. Probably before November. I'll let you know when they get put up.

But here is a sweet one, just because I like it so much:

And another one b/c I am so awesome. That is me at Monte Alban.

36 hours in nac.
the webwise conference was pretty cool. i took lots of notes that will sum up the experience. i'll try and scan them when i get back from new mexico.
i'm leaving tomorrow at 5:30. i'm getting over 800 bucks in mileage. that will be kick ass. i'm too tired to think of anything more to post. there are a few web wise comics up at CU30S

back in nac
just got back from Van Horn. i promise i'll link to the pictures when they're up on the database.
like i did (just now) for the zoo videos pictures. so that was cool.
the drive with Vic was really easy. especially b/c i didn't drive. duh. the people at TAS were really nice. i was by far the youngest person there. i hope TIDES can keep working with them. by TIDES i mean me of course.
it seems that i'll be leaving in a few hours (11 hours total in nac today) for Miami. i hope to meet dwade. if not, i'll just be busy playing "who can get the closest to Cuba". which is where you see who has the fucking balls to run as far as they can towards Cuba. i hope to destroy my previous record that i set when i destroyed dru, max, jacob and the entire world at "who can get the closest to Japan/everything"
yeah that's right Dru. that is why i linked you here. eat a dick newb.
i really love having a blog. i make the interwebs.
don't forget dru; never forgive.*
*also never forget

it is 434
March kicks off a whole lot of work-related traveling for me, and I'm pretty much thrilled for the opportunity to jet around the Southwest, spreading the TIDES gospel and developing professionally, as they say.
The Van Horn trip is a rock art field school. Filming and learning about stuff so that when I'm in New Mexico I can be more informed for what we see there. Just me and Vic going. Good stuff. 13 hour drive. One shot, lots of good music on the way there. Vic's new truck. Exciting.
The Miami thing is a librarian conference. No you haven't stumbled upon yet another librarian blog, but I am going to Miami. The people there might be the ones to yay or nay our million dollar* grant. Best behavior for all. But please know that it is spring break for some schools and I'll be near the beech. Like whoa. I am going to get as close to Cuba as I can.
Llama is a llama trek in New Mexico. No, sadly you don't get to eat or ride the llama. They just carry your gear. I'll be fliming and generally kicking it in the mountains and shit. Try not to miss me when I'm sipping crystal clear spring water in Taos.
So my March is a little full. I might be able to squeeze you in after I get my Malcolm time in. I love that furry bastard. I'm going to miss him. So that's it. Any questions?
Oh did I mention that I haven't packed?
*also an aceptable link would have been this

what up dog?
I'm cold chillin in the hotel room after a long day of presentations and holding down a booth here in Huntsville. There are a lot of teachers that seem really excited about the site. Hopefully they'll be excited about it when they're looking for resources or videos or lesson plans. There are so many cool things that we can do with our site, but only so much time. I really hope we can get some of the site building stuff behind us so that we can concentrate on new programs and things like that.
I didn't get too much flak from my MLK letter. One person felt like I was accusing her and other people of being callous. I wrote her back and was happy to apologize and happy to have an open dialogue with someone about it. Later in the day, a few people said that they liked what I wrote. One woman said that she liked the "article" that I wrote. So good.
Very good stuff. Also, don't forget to check out comicsunder30seconds.blogspot.com . And more importantly, send me your submission!

why watch shrek so much?
christine: sad, but true.have you seen i am legend?me: yes. too scary for mechristine: me too!!!!!!!!!i recognized that it was a smart and well done film, but damn i wanted it to be over fast.and his dog! i cried. outloud. very embarrassing.me: yeah, i was with a bunch of dog people when i saw it tooafter the movie, as with all movies, i wanted to discuss with my friends the moviei hate going to see movies as a social thingbecause you dont fucking socialize at allno talking. and no one even sits through the credits to see the bit at the end. (80% of movies have bits at the end)anyway, so i'm trying to get them to talk about the movie but all they want to do is talk about how the dog died.and how that didn't have to happen.christine: well, it kind of did have to happen.but go on...me: EXACTLY!jesus died and we got on with thatchristine: hahahahahame: tragedy is a part of movies, and movies are fucking fiction. it is cool that you cried, i'm all for feeling sorry for that dog.it was a smart dogbut you prefaced your comment with an opinion about the movieso i kept on trying to get them to talk about the fucking movie.couldn't do it. they just couldn't fucking do itchristine: you know what was most scary and not at all talked about?me: how he knew so much of shrekchristine: that the zombie-vampire thing, which was supposed to have no human qualities left, watched will smith and learned how to booby trap him

i'll never post again
well. not really. but i plan on celebrating my victory over NaBloPoMo by not posting anything.
-----------
tonight was looking like a nice early night, but then Dan K. came into town with a keg. tomorrow will be all about Malcolm and me though. we have big plans. a little soccer watching and some video game playing. hopefully i won't be going out at all.
-----------
Zero is with the ultimate team in Dallas. I hope everyone treats him well. I don't see why they wouldn't, but that is why Zero and I are friends. I've really enjoyed this week. Honestly, I was kinda in need of some time alone, but hanging out with Zero was therapeutic in its own right.
-----------
At work today we talked a lot about some upcoming partnerships we have. I'm really anxious about some of them because the people we're going to be working with are crazy. I don't want to be working under a framework that only part of the team is working under. That framework would be what I like to call reality. Oh well. I guess I have to follow the boss lady. I also have to make my fears known, and I'm going to work on doing that in a more positive way. Complaining isn't something I can do well enough in any setting, especially not a professional one.

zero
zero is in town. that is dangerous stuff. we are apt to party down like "nautical douchebags." yes that is a classic zero quote.
We finally have our site 95% developed. There will always be upgrades and rewrites, but for the first time there are no null links and there are no empty segments. I'm really happy with how it looks based on the amount of time, energy, and expertise we were able to put into it. There are so many things that we only scratched the surface of. A lot of sections are going to be reciveing content updates for years to come, not to mention the addition of RSS feeds for specific grades and subjects and the switch to .flv video. Yikes. Maybe I shouldn't celebrate yet.
I learned a lot about coding and web design. I can't wait to do some freelance work. Of course, as soon as I leave the comfort of my own content and my student workers, I'll be useless.
Oh well. To celebrate my achievement in nerddom I watched a video and sent the site to my parents (again).
